Develop The UMK, BRI Gives Ease To Individual Company

JAKARTA PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk facilitates business actors, especially Micro and Small Enterprises (UMK) who develop businesses by facilitating individual Company services which are believed to make it easier for UMK players to access various banking services.

BRI President Director Sunarso said this concept had been formally encouraged by the government through the Job Creation Law (Ciptaker) which had regulated this regulation.

The Ciptaker Law states that it is currently possible for business actors to establish a company with only one founder. This is certainly very relevant for many of the UMKs, which are only self-employed or individual businesses.

Sunarso emphasized the importance of MSMEs for the Indonesian economy. MSMEs are the sector that absorbs the highest workforce in Indonesia.

Based on data from the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs (2019), MSMEs contributed 99.9 percent of the total business in Indonesia and absorbed approximately 119.6 million workers or 96.92 percent of the total workforce.

BRI data shows that every one KUR customer employs three people on average. We now have eight million KUR customers. Therefore, more than 24 million workers have been absorbed," he said in a written statement, Monday, November 7.

According to Sunarso, the high contribution of MSMEs to the national economy needs to be appreciated by providing education and development to MSMEs.

One of them is providing banking services to individual Company customers in the form of credit facilities and adjusted banking product development.

This step was supported by the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia Yasonna Laoly.

"We have high hopes that MSMEs will rise together with BRI as the backbone of MSMEs, especially ultra micro and synergy with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. So, Individual Company is important to continue," he explained.

For your information, the Individual Company is a legal entity that allows UMK actors to be able to establish the company without minimal capital and can be established by one person with limited responsibilities.

The benefits, there will be many UMKs that will be able to access banking services, especially bankable funding.

The presence of the Individual Company is also considered as a solution to improve Indonesia's economic conditions after the Covid-19 pandemic by moving the UMK sector.

Based on data from the Directorate General of AHU as of October 31, 2022, it was recorded that 55,830 Individual Companies had been registered.

"Most of them are dominated by West Java with 13,760 individuals, then East Java with 7,042, and DKI Jakarta with 6,338 individuals," he added.
