JAKARTA - Economic observer from the University of Indonesia Toto Pranoto said the installation of a sensor pole or device system for contactless toll payments or Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF) on the Jagorawi Toll Road and Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) S is the right policy. According to him, the installation of a toll payment transaction system with the MLFF technology model is an effort to speed up the toll transaction payment process, so that the transaction process time becomes faster. "This will have an impact on reducing congestion on toll roads. The use of this new technology can be an additional alternative for the now run use of e-toll card tap payments," he said. Previously, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) installed MLFF sensor poles on two toll roads. The initial installation has been carried out at the Jagorawi Toll Road KM 18 + 370 towards Ciawi. Meanwhile, the installation of the two MLFF sensor poles was carried out on the JORR S Toll Road KM33 + 635. With the implementation of the MLFF, the toll road will completely become a freeway or there will be no more barriers at the toll gate. Traffic on toll roads will be monitored with support from the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology.
