Soho Global Health, Imboost Producer This Ensures That The Prohibition Of Sales Of Sirop Drugs Does Not Influence Company Performance

JAKARTA - PT Soho Global Health Tbk (SOHO) ensures that the government's policy of temporarily stopping the sale of sirop drugs in all pharmacies during the implementation of infection risk investigations following the emergence of cases of acute kidney disorders in children will not affect the company's performance. Director & Corporate Secretary Soho Global Health Yuliana said that sirop products contributed 30 percent of the total products produced by SOHO. While the sirop produced is mostly herbal products and also health supplements or multivitamins. "This policy does not have a material impact on SOHO's performance," he told VOI, Monday, October 24. Yuli emphasized that SOHO produces products according to the standards permitted by BPOM and follows the CPOB (Good Manufacturing Practices) procedure. "Because our commitment is to produce products that are beneficial to public health by ensuring that all products must comply with the standards set by BPOM, namely safety, Efficacy and Quality standards," he continued. He further added that his party produced several pharmaceutical preparations, namely solid, semi-solid and liquid. "Only one sirop product is a category of drugs that have indications to relieve nausea and vomiting in CHINESE channel disorders and treatment with cytotoxic or radiotherapy," he added. He also ensured that the drugs produced did not use glycerin, PEG or sorbitol which could potentially contain ethylene glycol (EG) and diethylene glycol (DEG) because his party proactively carried out an assessment of all pressures products. "The assessment that we are doing is by analyzing the potential for DIG and EG contamination to ensure the safety and benefits of products," explained Yuli. Yuli also stated that his party would follow directions from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) and the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) regarding the policy of distributing sirop drugs. "We fully support the direction of the BPOM and the Ministry of Health. So far, we have produced using quality and standardized raw materials according to the standards set by BPOM," he concluded. Previously, Deputy Minister of Health (Wamenkes) Dante Saksono Harbuwono said that the government had instructed the government to temporarily suspend the sale of sirop drugs in all pharmacies during the investigation of the risk of infection following cases of acute kidney disorders in children. He said that the government does not prohibit the use of paracetamol, but prohibits the use of sirop-shaped medicinal products that can be polluted by glycol ethylene (EG). The Ministry of Health issued instructions regarding the obligation to investigate epidemiology and report cases of acute kidney disorders in children on October 18, 2022. In this case, the Ministry of Health has instructed all health workers in health care facilities not to temporarily predetermine drugs in the form of liquid or sirop preparations until there is an official announcement from the government. In addition, the ministry asked all pharmacies not to temporarily sell free or free drugs in the form of sirops to the public until there was an official announcement from the government regarding this matter.
