Hutama Karya Ensures Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road Is Ready For Use In The Near Future

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya as the manager of the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang (Kampar Regency) Toll Road has ensured that the 40-kilometer freeway is ready for use and is waiting for its official inauguration.

"For the inauguration, we are still waiting for news from the central government, but for the time being it can be operationalized," said Branch Manager of Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Management AGG Indrayana in Pekanbaru, quoted from Antara, Thursday, October 20.

Actually, the toll road that connects Pekanbaru City and Kampar Regency has been allowed to open to the public starting October 27, 2022, but until now PT Hutama Karya as the toll manager has not been able to confirm when the Pekanbaru - Bangkinang toll road will be inaugurated.

However, Indrayana continued, the central government in this case the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing has allowed the toll road to be operational.

"This is evidenced by the fact that functional, operational permits and orders have been issued. Even the Decree on the determination of toll rates has been issued.

We have fulfilled everything, starting from the functional feasibility permit, we have obtained the operational feasibility permit, then the order for the operation has also been obtained," said Indrayana.

The Pekanbaru - Bangkinang toll road is one of six new toll roads in Indonesia that will soon be operational. The freeway is part of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road, precisely on the Pekanbaru-Padang route.

The Pekanbaru - Bangkinang toll road is a supporting corridor or fin of the 254-kilometer Pekanbaru-Padang toll road. The Pekanbaru-Bangkinang toll road has a main road of 40 kilometers as well as six bridges and two rest areas.

The distance from Pekanbaru-Bangkinang in Riau Province if passing through the national road is about 58.8 km with a travel time of about 1 hour 40 minutes, it can be longer if there is a traffic jam, especially on weekends. Meanwhile, if you use the toll road, the distance is only 30-45 minutes.
