JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of SOEs I, Pahal Nugraha Mansyuri said the 3 kilogram (kg) LPG (induction) stove trial program to electricity (induction) had been stopped by PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) PLN.

Pahala said the decision to terminate the program was in accordance with the agreement at the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas).

He admitted that there had been no further explanation whether the 3 kg LPG gas stove conversion program to the electric stove would resume.

"It seems that we have no plans to continue to use the induction stove," he explained.

Regarding the fate of the electric stove that has already been given to the community, Pahala admitted that he did not know for sure. He advised to ask PLN further.

"Wow, maybe it was asked to PLN, yes," he said.

For your information, PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) or PLN has officially canceled the program to transfer the 3 kg LPG stove to an electric stove.

This step is taken to maintain the comfort of the community in economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic.

"PLN has decided that the transfer program to the electric stove will be cancelled. PLN is here to provide comfort in the community through the provision of reliable electricity," said PLN President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo, in an official statement, Tuesday, September 27.

The PLN electricity stove program was canceled after receiving criticism from various circles.

One of them from the House of Representatives Commission VII member Mulan Jameela considered the LPG stove conversion program to electricity to be too hasty.

Mulan believes that the use of electric stoves will not be optimal for the domain of Indonesia's household.

Therefore, Mulan asked for the program to be reviewed because it will cause new problems later.

"We, Commission VII, discussed with the ESDM ministry. We agreed that this program must be reviewed. The program, it seems that what Mr. Bambang said is true, solving problems with problems," he said in a Working Meeting with the Directorate General of ILMATE of the Ministry of Industry on September 21.
