JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Land Transportation has set regulations for adjusting economic class crossing transportation rates.

The tariff adjustment between provinces is made on 23 commercial crossings with an adjustment of around 11 percent.

The adjustment of the crossing transportation tariff has been set and signed by the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi on September 28, 2022.

The Director General of Land Transportation, Hendro Sugiatno, said that the new tariff for this economic class crossing transportation will be applied for 3 days from the time it is set.

"In accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia number KM 184 of 2022 concerning Amendments to the Decree of the Minister of Transportation Number KM 172 of 2022 concerning Tariffs for the Implementation of Inter-provincial and International Economic Levels, tariff adjustments between provinces are made on 23 commercial crossings with adjustments ranging from 11 percent," said Director General Hendro, Wednesday, September 28.

Hendro explained that this tariff adjustment takes into account the results of the evaluation of the calculation of the tariff for the implementation of economic class crossing transportation and in order to maintain the safety and security of shipping, the balance between the interests of the community, and the sustainability of the crossing industry.

"From this new tariff, for example, the tariff adjustment for example on the Merak-Bakauheni crossing, namely passenger rates (not including the mandatory fee for passenger accidents and port services) has been adjusted from Rp. 14,475 to Rp. 16,575 or an increase of Rp. 2,100," he said.

Then, the tariff for class IV A vehicles underwent an adjustment from Rp369,000 to Rp407,700 or there was an increase of Rp38,700.

Meanwhile, on the Merak-Bakauheni track, other tariffs such as class V B vehicles have been adjusted from Rp644,000 to Rp712,750 or an increase of Rp68,750.

Then, the tariff for class VI B vehicles was adjusted from Rp. 1,000,000 to Rp. 1,107,000 or there was an increase of Rp. 107,000.

Untuk penyesuaian tariff (belum termasuk iuran wajib dana pertanggungan wajib kecelakaan penumpang dan jasa kepebuhanan) pada lintas KetapangGilimanuk antara lain:a. tariff penumpang mengalami penyesuaian dari awal sebesar Rp4,500 menjadi Rp5,450 atau terdapat kenaikan sebesar Rp950.

b. Class IV A vehicle fares have been adjusted from Rp144,000 to Rp. 160,350 or there was an increase of Rp16,350.

c. Class V B vehicle fares have been adjusted from Rp. 219,000 to Rp. 242,250 or there was an increase of Rp. 23,250.

d. The tariff for class VI B vehicles has been adjusted from Rp355,000 to Rp. 392,500 or there was an increase of Rp37,500.

"Adjustments to crossing transportation rates in the future can be made after an evaluation is carried out on the tariffs that have been set every 6 months. From this evaluation, it will be known that changes in the cost or production unit units per mile due to changes in the price unit in the cost component," said Hendro.

Hendro also hopes that the adjustment of shipping fares for ship operators will improve the safety and safety aspects of shipping and maintain the quality of crossing transportation services.

With this adjustment of crossing transport rates, it has taken into account a reasonable increase and a fair tariff structure for service users and operators.

"In addition, it is hoped that crossing and port transportation businesses can immediately disseminate information on the adjustment of interprovincial crossing transportation rates together with relevant stakeholders both physically and through other media in each crossing crossing," he said.
