DPR Appreciates The PT PAL Submarine Development Project: Accelerating The Independence Of The Domestic Defense Industry

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives Abdul Kharis Almasyhari appreciated the submarine construction project carried out by PT PAL Indonesia with strategic partners. The transfer of technology, he said, must be carried out in an integrated, intact and sustainable manner. One of them is realized through strategic cooperation with producing countries. In addition, government support from the Indonesian House of Representatives, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of SOEs and the Indonesian Navy is expected to be able to accelerate the independence of the domestic defense industry. "This support is in order to reduce dependence on foreigners, and can create a stable defense ecosystem and can become the driving force of the economy to a macro scale," he said. From the visit, he continued, he also witnessed the new spirit by carrying out changes or transformations of the maritime industry 4.0. He explained that in 2015 PT PAL Indonesia was trusted by the government to build and maintain and maintain high-tech defense equipment and defense, namely submarines.
