JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) continues to accelerate digital transformation by actively encouraging an industrial-based ecosystem of 4.0 and Society 5.0.
Head of the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) of the Ministry of Industry, Arus Gunawan, said that in order to realize this goal, the government builds partnerships with various parties, including providing support for commercial areas.
"The government is committed to developing a digital ecosystem that is run with the concept of partnership and cooperation between the government and various parties, such as private companies and universities," he said in a written statement quoted on Friday, September 16.
According to Gunawan, one of the digital commercial areas currently available is the Corretio which continues to be built by PT. Jababeka in Cikarang, West Java.
"This area is predicted to be Indonesia's "Silicon Valley"," he said.
Gunawan revealed that the presence of the ecosystem at Corectio also provides facilities for local startups that will develop their businesses.
"The government will collaborate with these startups with global partners, so that they can have qualified experience and networking to contribute in the economy," he stressed.
It was also explained that Jababeka has also opened access for startups and industries to continue to develop and produce technology-based innovations and solutions at Correctio.
This is possible thanks to the partnership that has been established with BRIN, Indogen, MANAI, Telkomsel, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), Auk Industries, Gamatechno, Arcstone, Sembcorp, and the Ministry of Industry.
"We also hope that Jababeka and industry partners can give birth to superior startups so that they can provide solutions in digital transformation 4.0," he said.
On the same occasion, the Director of PT Jababeka Tbk. Sutedja Sidarta Darmono said the Corretio area would be supported by world-class facilities, such as a district cooling system, solar panel, data center, smart command center, and much more.
In addition, a city based on Transit Oriented Development (TOD) was also developed to facilitate accessibility.
"As the largest industrial area in Southeast Asia, Cikarang has been equipped with a TOD-based urban planning design that can be reached by LRT, MRT, high-speed trains, Damri, and roads that support easy community access for public transportation, pedestrians, and cyclists," said Sutedja.
