JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) targets the revitalization project of the electricity network of the Jakarta Presidential Palace to be completed in 2023. This revitalization is carried out to increase the reliability of electricity supply to support state activities.

This revitalization is the first time since the palace electricity system was prepared in 1960. It is planned that the Jakarta Presidential Palace Complex will be supplied with a power of 6 Mega Volt Ampere (MVA).

The entire power is used for electricity in the State Palace, Merdeka Palace, Presidential Office, Vice President's Office, State Wisma, and State Secretariat.

Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono hopes that this revitalization project will run according to plan. This is because many presidential activities at the State Palace depend on reliable electricity supply.

"Hopefully the revitalization of the electricity system at the Presidential Palace complex can run smoothly according to schedule," said Heru in an official statement, Friday, September 9.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo after handing over the Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) certificate or Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) with Heru President Heru Budi Hartono conducted a review to ensure the project runs according to plan.

Darmawan emphasized that the revitalization of the electricity network is a priority for PLN because it is related to the interests of the nation which is large, especially for state resilience.

"The revitalization of electricity at the Presidential Palace Complex is PLN's commitment to support national resilience through reliable electricity supply. We ensure that the revitalization runs smoothly and does not interfere with state activities within the Palace," said Darmawan.

Darmawan explained that the revitalization of the electricity network includes the addition of the number of sources of supply and withdrawal of its electricity network, the construction of the Underground Power House, the construction of a new distribution substation, and the revitalization of four existing distribution substations.

"Before the revitalization, there were 2 sources of electricity supply with shift systems within the Presidential Palace. Now with the revitalization, there are now 4 standby sources of supply," explained Darmawan.

In addition, the addition was also carried out for the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), which previously backupd 25 percent for the crucial part, which would later become 100 percent electricity backup at all Jakarta Presidential Palace complexes.

"Furthermore, the use of generators after revitalization will become 100 percent PLN's electricity backup, from only 30 percent initially. This will make electricity very reliable," concluded Darmawan.
