Sri Mulyani Forecasts Solar And Pertalite Quota Over In October

JAKARTA - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati estimates that the subsidized fuel quota of diesel and pertalite types targeted in this year's state budget will expire in October.

"If we look at the volume of consumption (BBM) following for the past eight months, the quota will run out in October, if consumption remains the same," Sri Mulyani said as quoted by Antara, Friday, August 26.

According to him, at the same time, the subsidy budget and energy compensation, which reached Rp502 trillion this year, will also expire in October.

So that a subsidy budget and additional energy compensation will be needed to patch the remaining time until the end of the year.

"What is happening now, with the economic recovery, consumption and subsidies still high, diesel and pertalite consumption is estimated to far exceed what is in the state budget," said Sri Mulyani.

Sri Mulyani explained that this estimate is based on data on the realization of the consumption of this type of fuel for the first seven months of this year, which has far exceeded half of the APBN's target.

He explained that the realization of diesel consumption from January to July this year has reached 9.88 million kiloliters (KL) or 65 percent of the quota.

With that, he projects that diesel consumption will reach 17.44 million KL or 115 percent of the quota by the end of the year.

For your information, the quota for subsidized diesel distribution in this year's APBN target is 15.10 million KL.

He continued the realization of Pertalite consumption from January to July this year has reached 16.84 million KL or 73 percent of the quota.

He projects Pertalite consumption will reach 29.07 million KL or 126 percent of the quota by the end of the year.

Meanwhile, the quota for Pertalite distribution in this year's APBN target is 23.05 million KL.
