JAKARTA - Video footage of a lawyer named Kamaruddin Hendra Simanjuntak mentioning that there are funds worth Rp. 300 trillion in a state-owned enterprise (BUMN), PT Taspen which is being prepared for campaign capital for presidential candidates (candidates) in the 2024 presidential election has gone viral on social media.

Kamaruddin himself is known as the lawyer for Brigadier Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier J in the murder case involving the former Head of the National Police Propam Division, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.

Responding to this, Taspen Corporate Secretary Mardiyani Pasaribu emphasized that PT Taspen (Persero) always applies good corporate governance (GCG) based on the principles of transparency (transparency), accountability (accountability), responsibility (responsibility), independence (independency). and fairness.

"Taspen is committed to always being trustworthy in managing the funds of State Civil Apparatus (ASN) participants and retired ASNs by increasing productivity and business efficiency as a form of accountability to participants and all stakeholders," he said in an official statement, Friday, August 26.

In implementing investments and managing all existing programs, said Mardiyani, Taspen must follow the rules set by the Ministry of Finance and OJK and always provide investment fund management reports to the Ministry of SOEs, Ministry of Finance, and OJK periodically.

Mardiyani said, Taspen's investment portfolio consisted mostly of State Bonds, State Sharia Bonds and 72 percent of State-Owned Bank Deposits.

Then, the rest is in subsidiaries, corporate bonds and mutual funds registered with the OJK about 22 percent and for shares of less than five percent, most of which are BUMN shares.

"Every year, the performance of PT TASPEN (Persero), especially in the field of investment management and operations, has been audited by the Supreme Audit Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK-RI)," he said.

Based on the results of the BPK-RI audit from 2018 to 2021, there were no material findings related to investment or operational management, and no investment funds were used for matters unrelated to the business activities of PT Taspen (Persero) that had been determined. in the Regulation of the Minister of Finance which regulates program management in Taspen.

"Taspen always upholds the principles of GCG as well as the principles of compliance, prudence and transparency in investing and operating. Taspen has always been trustworthy in managing the ASN pension funds that have been entrusted to us for almost 60 years," he said.
