After 2021 Profit Becomes The Highest Since Established, PTPN V Continues Positive Performance: Six Months This Year Profits IDR 781 Billion

JAKARTA - PT Perkebunan Nusantara V (PTPN V) managed to record a net profit of IDR 1.3 trillion for the 2021 financial year. This record is the highest profit in history since the state-owned company was founded.

"Alhamdulillah, the fruit of the improvements made in the last three years, can bring the company to book a net profit of IDR 1.3 trillion. The highest in the history of the company," said PTPN V CEO Jatmiko Santosa, quoted by Antara, Friday, August 19.

He said the Rp1.3 trillion figure contributed almost a third of the total profit after tax of PTPN V's parent company, Holding Perkebunan Nusantara in 2021, amounting to Rp.4.6 trillion, or a 312.81 percent jump from PTPN V's profit the previous year.

The consistency of the positive trend continues this year. In the first semester of 2022 PTPN V recorded an unaudited net profit of Rp.781 billion. This figure is an increase of 158 percent when compared to the same period in 2021.

Jatmiko is optimistic that this year the company's performance will be better even though corporations experience ups and downs in the price of their main commodity, namely crude palm oil or CPO.

"God willing, 2022 will be better. With the full support of shareholders and with the best resources, room for improvement and always open, this year we are optimistic that we will exceed the achievements of 2021," he continued.

This belief, according to him, is based on a comprehensive improvement that has become a culture and has proven to have a positive impact. Improvements over the last three years have brought the company into a different class.

"There is only one hope for this commitment, consistency, and persistence of the spirit of improvement, to become a leading company in its field, and to make a real contribution to the nation and state, just like the spirit of independence this year, to recover faster and rise stronger," he said.
