JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah spoke about the wage subsidy assistance (BSU) which has not been distributed to the public. In fact, the government has announced this year BSU will be resumed.

Ida explained that the Ministry of Manpower was only a distributor of the aid. Meanwhile, the decision regarding distribution is in the hands of the COVID-19 Handling Committee and the National Economic Election (KPC-PEN).

“It uses funds from KPC-PEN. We will wait for the exercise. The position of the Ministry of Manpower is to distribute, all decisions are made by KPC-PEN," he told reporters at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 16.

Ida said, BSU funds have been allocated. Currently, the Ministry of Manpower is assisted by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan or BP Jamsostek as the owner of the data still selecting workers who are entitled to receive it.

"It has been allocated, we just have to wait for who is entitled to receive the subsidy," he said.

Even so, Ida admitted that he had not received an order from the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto who is also the Chair of KPC-PEN to distribute BSU.

"We haven't received any direction from the Coordinating Minister for the Economy," he explained.

For your information, the Ministry of Manpower has managed the 2020 and 2021 BSU with several provisions on the criteria for recipients and the amount of assistance provided. In 2020, BSU will focus on workers who have wages below IDR 5 million.

In 2021, this social assistance will target workers who are affected by the policy of the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) levels 3 and 4 and have wages below Rp. 3.5 million or if this is not the case, the minimum wage is more than Rp. 3.5 million, using the minimum wage limit. applicable.

Meanwhile, in 2022, the temporary BSU recipient criteria are designed for workers with wages below IDR 3.5 million. The database of BSK recipients also still uses the data of active BPJS Employment participants.
