Pertamina Gas Subholding Supports Addition Of 2,500 SR Jargas In Musi Banyuasin

JAKARTA - PT PGN Tbk as Pertamina Gas Subholding is committed to developing the use of domestic natural gas to assist the government in suppressing energy imports during the current energy transition period.

In line with this commitment (Pj) the Regent of Musi Banyuasin held an audience with PGN management in the context of developing additional gas lines with a potential of 2,500 House Connections (SR) in Musi Banyuasin Regency (Muba), South Sumatra. This additional jargas is planned to be built in Sekayu District covering four villages, namely Kel. Great Hall, Ex. Soak Baru, Ex. Serasan Jaya, and Ex. Kayuara.

Since 2017, PGN has served 13,385 SR active customers spread across the Kec. Sekayu, Kec. Sungai Lilin, and Kec. Slime Shadow.

Acting (Pj) Regent of Musi Banyuasin Drs H Apriyadi stated that in the future the Government of Musi Banyuasin Regency will cooperate with PGN regarding the development of gas networks to villages in Musi Banyuasin Regency. Especially the villages that are already adjacent to the sub-districts that already have a gas network.

"God willing, there are several patterns that we will implement and we, the Government of Musi Banyuasin Regency and PGN, are determined that the community must maximize the enjoyment of gas that comes from Musi Banyuasin itself. This is a matter of pride and pleasure to be able to discuss with PGN," said Apriyadi, in statement, Friday 29 July.

In line with the government program, PGN is mandated to build a gas network of 4 million connections by 2025.

"This means that there is support from the Musi Banyuasin Regency Government to make the program a success. Moreover, Musi Banyusin is an energy barn, meaning that the constraints regarding the source of gas are no longer a problem. Hopefully what is planned can go well and PGN will fully support its implementation, "said Director of Infrastructure and Technology PGN Achmad Muchtasyar.

"The public's interest in gas gas in Musi Banyuasin is quite high. PGN is ready to become a partner of the central and regional governments to expand the construction of gas gas in Muba so that more people can enjoy the benefits of natural gas," added PGN's Director of Sales and Operations, Faris Aziz.

Faris also hopes that there will be more sub-districts that PGN can channel natural gas to in Muba, to support the government's program to reduce energy subsidies by switching to natural gas.

The allocation of natural gas from domestic energy sources for gas, continues to be pursued to be maximally absorbed for the benefit of the community. In addition to households, natural gas has the potential to be distributed to the MSME, industrial, and commercial sectors.

The added value of using jargas for households is complete combustion, so that cooking utensils will be cleaner and more durable. Natural gas is a guaranteed fuel supply 24 hours a week and is more environmentally friendly.

"The mechanism for gas usage is to use gas first, pay later. Gas usage can be monitored independently, because each customer is installed with a meter to calculate gas usage. For prices, natural gas is more competitive, customers can save about 30 percent of costs compared to the price of raw materials. non-subsidized fuel," explained Faris.

Natural gas is also safe to use. The character of natural gas is lighter than air, so if there is a leak, the gas will disappear in the air. A leak in the gas pipe will also not cause an explosion, but will only create sparks.

Before the gas is ready to be used by the public, PGN continues to socialize the safety of natural gas and the benefits of natural gas, so that the public is more aware of how to maintain natural gas infrastructure.

"The disruption service team is ready to serve 24 hours, 7 days a week, if the community has problems related to the gas line," Achmad added.
