Sri Mulyani's Order: Echelon I Of The Ministry Of Finance Must Teach At STAN

JAKARTA – The Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani issued a special policy to oblige the main echelon I officials within the Ministry of Finance to become teaching staff at the State College of Accountancy (STAN).

According to the Minister of Finance, this step can provide direct experience to students and lecturers on the current situation that occurs in the field. In addition, the latest policy is considered quite important because the delivery of knowledge from practical sources really supports the learning process in the classroom.

“I asked all echelon I to teach at STAN. So it's not just alumni who teach, such as Pak Yon (Expert Staff of the Minister of Finance for Tax Compliance). All of you (Kemenkeu officials) produce knowledge every day and that knowledge must be shared. Your function in managing state finances is very relevant and this must be captured and taught," said the Minister of Finance at the peak of the commemoration of the 2022 STAN Anniversary, Friday, July 29.

The state treasurer said that another policy that was made was related to the determination of the government school officials.

“The STAN leader was deliberately chosen not internally because I wanted new thoughts. If STAN is taken care of, filled in, and taught from internal people, then we cannot see the world in a more complete and complex way. Like Mr. Deputy Minister Suahasil who is a professor at the University of Indonesia, I ask to be involved in thinking about STAN,” he said.

Furthermore, the Minister of Finance also said that actually STAN has its own corporate university within the Ministry of Finance.

“We have a corporate university, namely the Ministry of Finance which is an institution as well as a vehicle for learning and producing knowledge. So you don't think that learning is only from campus,” he said.

To note, the State Finance Polytechnic STAN is a government institution which is now in the form of a Public Service Agency (BLU). This campus is an official school that aims to produce cadres for the Ministry of Finance.
