JAKARTA – PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI is proactively participating in developing the domestic game market as well as the game industry through the implementation of the eSports Tournament For Stronger Indonesia.

BNI President Director Royke Tumilaar said the move was realized by building collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo).

"We want to be stronger in stimulating the growth of the national game industry," he said in an official statement on Wednesday, July 27.

According to Royke, competitions such as eSports will encourage more local gamers as well as game creators to be more enthusiastic about creating achievements.

"BNI is ready to become a lifetime partner of the millennial generation by facilitating this habit change by providing various banking solutions in every online game transaction," he said.

On the same occasion, Kemenkominfo Spokesperson Permadi welcomed BNI's initiative in developing the national game industry. He hopes that the company will not stop here, in order to support the creation of a healthy and more innovative national gaming industry ecosystem.

"We hope that all relevant stakeholders, including BNI, can continue to support the national game industry so that they can contribute more to the economy," he said.

Dedy added that his party supports the development of the national game industry, including through the Indonesia Game Developer Exchange (IGDX) program.

"Through this program, we provide a series of training programs to business matchmaking to facilitate local game developers to develop their games," he said.

Meanwhile, Dewa United eSports Team member Denis Haris Prayogo appreciated BNI as an eSport organizer. According to him, this is a form of concern between the government and SOEs in facilitating as well as supporting the talents of young people in making positive contributions to the country.

"We certainly really appreciate the organization of this competition. Thank you BNI. I hope BNI continues to be more successful For Stronger Indonesia," he said.
