JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) cooperates with Perum DAMRI and PT Tri Energi Berkarya (TEB) to provide the first Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) for electric buses.

The provision of the Electric Bus SPKLU is carried out by the Greater Jakarta Distribution Main Unit (UID) in synergy with Perum DAMRI and PT Tri Energi Berkarya (TEB).

This collaboration was marked by the signing of a cooperation agreement between PLN, DAMRI, and TEB at the PLN Booth, Periklindo Electric Vehicles Show (PEVS) JIExpo Kemayoran on July 25, 2022.

General Manager of PLN UID Jaya, Doddy B Pangaribuan said, the first Ultra Fast Charging SPKLU with a sharing economic model partnership pattern and became a pioneer for SPKLU which can charge cars and electric buses.

"We hope that 1 SPKLU can serve 10 electric vehicles. Jakarta itself still has 36 percent of electricity reserves, so don't worry about the electricity supply," said Doddy to the media, Tuesday, July 26.

This SPKLU supply cooperation scheme uses the Provide, Privately Owned and Operated (PPOO) Scheme, in which PLN as the holder of the Electric Power Supply Business License (IUPTL) will provide the SPKLU infrastructure and information technology platform through the Electric Vehicle menu in the PLN Mobile application.

Meanwhile, DAMRI will provide the land. The TEB will prepare the SPKLU along with its operation and maintenance.

General Manager of Perum DAMRI Jakarta Branch, Rahmat Santoso, said that this collaboration was the first step in the growth of electric vehicles in Indonesia.

Rahmat said DAMRI would deploy 53 units of E-Inobus brand buses for urban transportation operations in the Bandung and Surabaya areas.

Meanwhile, one unit of Edison Motors brand bus will be operated for airport transportation.

"The electric bus program for DAMRI urban transportation also collaborates with the Ministry of Transportation. Today's collaboration with PLN and TEB is the first step for sustainable synergy," said Rahmat Santoso.

Director of PT TEB, Tania Natasha Andrika explained, this step was taken to achieve the emission reduction target in the transportation sector.
