BI Will Bring South Kalimantan SMEs To Japan

BANJARMASIN - Executive Director of Bank Indonesia, representative of South Kalimantan Imam Subarkah, said that his party will bring South Kalimantan's leading MSMEs to Japan, as a promotional step and to attract investment.

"Later, we will invite MSMEs to market them not only to the national level but also to go global," he said at the closing of the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement (Gernas BBI) in South Kalimantan, reported by ANTARA, Sunday, July 24.

This, he said, was BI's follow-up after the BBI Gernas in South Kalimantan. Namely, promotion through the implementation of PAMOR BORNEO (the BORNEO Export-Oriented MSME Acceleration Program), which is planned to be held in Japan in August 2022.

"It's a kind of promotion of South Kalimantan products to Japanese people, including inviting investment to South Kalimantan," he said.

Other follow-up plans from BI include assistance in improving the quality of superior MSME products and encouraging the creation of a fashion industry based on South Kalimantan MSMEs in collaboration with various fashion designers and national top brands.

Furthermore, encouraging business matching assistance for South Kalimantan SMEs with the modern retail market and optimizing the use of e-commerce.

Currently, said Imam, COVID-19 is under control, after a long slowdown because the Gernas BBI pandemic is the momentum for the economic revival of South Kalimantan.

"I hope this will continue through programs that can grow the economy," he said.

The peak celebration of Gernas BBI with the theme "Explore the Colors of South Kalimantan" which was held on July 22-24 at Taman Siring 0 KM Banjarmasin, was officially closed today.

There were 67 leading MSMEs selected by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, the provincial government and Bank Indonesia representatives of South Kalimantan in the MSME Expo.

In addition, there are 600 MSMEs from 13 regencies and cities, which also participate in filling the South Kalimantan BBI Gernas.
