JAKARTA - Head of the Human Resources Division of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas), Hudi Suryodiporo said, SKK Migas and KKKS invited universities to work together to meet the workforce needs of the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry.

"We will continue the goes to campus program to find and explain the upstream oil and gas program in campuses," Hudi said in a written statement, Tuesday, June 28.

The same thing was conveyed by the Head of SKK Migas, Dwi Soetjipto on the sidelines of the implementation of the Indonesia HR Summit. According to Dwi Soetjipto, the challenge of finding oil and gas is getting bigger, so it must be supported by human resource capabilities which are an absolute requirement, not only technological skills, but also the ability to innovate.

"Think out of the box to carry out massive, aggressive and efficient activities and provide constructive input to build the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry," said Dwi.

He added that HR plays a strategic role as an enabler and strategic partner, especially in the midst of the upstream oil and gas condition which is trying to meet the national oil and gas production target.

SKK Migas stated that the need for human resources in the oil and gas sector is currently increasing significantly in line with the start of major projects in the oil and gas industry.

Acting Head of the Program and Communication Division of SKK Migas, Mohamad Kemal said, the need for human resources in the oil and gas sub-sector is increasing in accordance with the commitments of the cooperation contract contractors (KKKS) in the approval of the work plan and budget (WNPB).

"The recruitment plan will still be carried out by KKKS in accordance with operational needs this year," said Kemal.

SKK Migas noted that the number of workers in the upstream oil and gas industry was recorded at 22,609 people throughout 2020.

However, the number of workers in the upstream oil and gas industry has reached 19,243 people in the first quarter of 2022.

Kemal believes the number of workers will continue to increase in the second quarter, even until the end of this year.
