JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) is said to be taking part in the 2022 Public Service Innovation Competition (KIPP) by carrying out the Digipay digital application as a mainstay.

Deputy Minister of Finance (Wamenkeu) Suahasil Nazara revealed that Digipay is one embodiment of digitizing state treasury management, especially in payment of government spending using the Money Supply (UP).

"Digitalization of state treasury management brings beneficial benefits, ranging from ease of access, speed of processing, breadth of reach, and time efficiency," he said while giving a presentation through virtual channels on Monday, June 27.

According to Suahasil, Digipay carries two big missions. First, Digipay is used to modernize state treasury management through the use of digital payments. Second, Digipay's mission is to empower Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as well as to encourage and strengthen the proud program for Indonesian products.

“Digipay is an innovation, namely online shopping in the public sector. We all want the public sector to spend more concisely but still in accordance with the compliance corridors that must be followed,” he said.

It was explained that Digipay is an integrated marketplace, digital payment, and tax collection or payment. Digipay connects working units, MSME vendors, banks, and the State General Treasurer in one ecosystem.

The Sri Mulyani representative also explained that the entire process of ordering goods/services, payments, as well as collecting and depositing taxes was carried out by several different users and carried out virtually.

"This system allows implementing the G to B or Government to Business scheme," he said.

Furthermore, Suahasil said Digipay has been used almost evenly throughout Indonesia. In November 2019 when Digipay was first introduced, only 10 satkers were used as pilots within the Ministry of Finance. However, currently, the use of Digipay has been used by 6,793 satkers in 77 Ministries and Institutions.

He also claimed that Digipay has been tested and used nationally, but strengthening for application improvement and expansion of its use will continue to be encouraged. One form of strengthening that the Deputy Minister of Finance wants to encourage is collaboration with local governments.

“Local government is the next reinforcement which if you want to join here it is very possible and we can facilitate it. Likewise, later we will connect with various other kinds of APBN management, including accounting and other matters. All of us are in the context of empowering MSMEs, managing modern cash, and an inclusive state budget," concluded the Deputy Minister of Finance, Suahasil.
