Minister Basuki Reminds Mandatory Infrastructure Spending To Prioritize Domestic Products

JAKARTA - Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono reminded that spending on infrastructure development should prioritize domestic products, especially if the development uses APBN funds.

"The state budget funds are collected from public taxes, so we don't want to waste even a penny of the state budget that has been collected so hard," Basuki said as quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 16.

According to him, the movement of spending on domestic products must be realized in infrastructure development so that it can open up more job opportunities for the people of Indonesia.

The government, said Basuki, places infrastructure development as one of the pillars and keys to increasing Indonesia's competitiveness.

Therefore, it is hoped that every business actor and workforce can improve their business capabilities and competencies in order to win the competition, especially in the ASEAN regional market.

"We must jointly ensure the readiness of the entire construction industry supply chain, starting from the institutional construction service business entity, labor, materials, equipment, technology, to the construction service community itself," he said.

On that occasion, Basuki appreciated the efforts made by the entire construction service community in realizing national infrastructure development, one of which was through the Mega Build Exhibition which is regularly held.

"This exhibition activity is a means to add insight to the development of technological innovation and construction products, as well as to exchange knowledge and experience between each construction service actor," he said.
