Gacor Task Force! BLBI Legend Sjamsul Nursalim Successfully Billed More Than Half Trillion

JAKARTA – The Task Force for Handling State Collection Rights for the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance Fund (BLBI) continues to show positive performance in carrying out its duties.

Most recently, the Task Force was said to have succeeded in collecting more than Rp367.7 billion from Sjamsul Nursalim who is a shareholder of PT Bank Dewa Rutji.

The head of the BLBI Task Force, Rionald Silaban, said that the payment process from Sjamsul Nursalim was received by the government on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.

"The BLBI Task Force has received a payment to settle the obligations of BLBI shareholders for the obligor shareholder of former PT Bank Dewa Rutji, namely Sjamsul Nursalim in the amount of IDR 367.7 billion," he said in a press statement on Wednesday, June 15.

According to Rionald, this result completes the fulfillment of the concerned after it was previously known that Sjamsul Nursalim agreed to return Rp150 billion of state money.

"This obligor previously on November 18, 2021 had made a payment of IDR 150 billion including a 10 percent administrative fee," he said.

Furthermore, Sri Mulyani's subordinate explained that if Sjamsul Nursalim fulfilled this obligation, it was facilitated by government agencies.

"Payments to the state treasury are made through the State Receivables Affairs Committee (PUPN) DKI Jakarta Branch. The payments are made after collection efforts have been made by the BLBI Task Force since 2021," said Rionald.

For information, the name Sjamsul Nursalim is quite legendary in the vortex of the Bank Indonesia bailout case two decades ago. In fact, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD often mentioned Sjamsul when he talked about the BLBI.

"Sjamsul Nursalim has two kinds of debt, one is Bank Dewaruci and then there is BDNI (Bank Dagang Nasional Indonesia). Now that will be billed, so it will be entered into Bank Dewaruci and BDNI has Sjamsul Nursalim. It will be billed," Mahfud said in an editorial report some time ago.

VOI noted that the BLBI case was claimed by the Task Force to cost the state Rp. 110.454 trillion.

The funds were disbursed by the government with the intention of helping the national banking system to recover when the 1998 economic crisis hit.
