JAKARTA - PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) contributed 22.25 percent to the formation of BUMN profits throughout 2021 which reached Rp126 trillion. This figure is equivalent to Rp. 28.03 trillion.

Bank Mandiri Director of Institutional Relations Rohan Hafas said the realization had increased by 66.8 percent on an annual basis from the same period the previous year (year on year / yoy) with IDR 16.8 trillion.

"We really appreciate the consistency of the government, especially SOEs in encouraging the acceleration of national economic growth to stimulate the domestic economy," he said in an official statement on Wednesday, June 15.

According to Rohan, the company recorded the largest net profit growth among banks in the bank group based on core capital IV on a bank only basis with a realized profit of IDR 12.1 trillion or 78.1 percent yoy.

"This growth certainly cannot be separated from our consistency in maintaining optimism by maximizing the potential and opportunities that exist," he said.

Rohan added, from the credit side, there was a growth of 12.2 percent yoy which was claimed to exceed the rate of industrial intermediation.

The score is supported by the ability to maintain the ratio of non-performing loans (NPL) at the level of 2.74 percent, better than April 2021 which was 3.30 percent. Meanwhile, the amount of restructuring of Bank Mandiri's debtors is stated to be Rp. 64 trillion.

"Credit restructuring has peaked around the second quarter of 2021 and continues to show a gradual downward trend," he said.

Rohan also explained that this situation had a positive impact on the total Loan At Risk (LAR) ratio which reached the level of 16.4 percent in April 2022. This position has decreased compared to the period at the end of 2021 which touched 17.75 percent.

Then, this consistent optimization of assets also bears sweet fruit for improved profitability. It can be seen from the position of Return of Assets (ROA) of the bank coded for BMRI's stock which continues to improve to the level of 3.34 percent in March 2022.

"This indicates that Bank Mandiri is able to manage all assets to support the business in producing optimal performance for the company," concluded Rohan.
