DENPASAR - The Bali Province Representative Office of Bank Indonesia (KPwBI) together with banks who are members of the Regional Banking Consultative Body (BMPD) Bali conveyed information or education about QRIS and rupiah in the opening parade of the 44th Bali Arts Festival.

"We, together with the Bali BMPD, will participate in the opening of the 44th PKB in 2022 as a form of synergy with the Bali Provincial Government," said Head of Bali Province KPwBI Trisno Nugroho as quoted by Antara, Sunday 12 June.

In addition to displaying information about rupiah and the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS), the parade by Bank Indonesia with 23 banking representatives at the Bali BMPD also featured a work entitled Playing Giri Mandara which tells the story of the origins of life in the world.

This is related to the theme of this year's PKB, namely Danu Kerthi: Huluning Amreta, Glorifying Water, the Source of Life.

Trisno said that the parade which was released by the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, involved KPwBI Bali employees, the New Generation of Indonesia (GENBI) Bali, 23 banking banks and collaborated with dancers and musicians at SMKN 3 Sukawati Gianyar, a total of 80 people.

According to him, through the parade, BI wants to provide information to the public that Bank Indonesia and banks always maintain the availability of rupiah in sufficient quantities, in appropriate denominations, and suitable for circulation in the province of Bali.

"Like water as a source of life, rupiah is here to support the circulation of the economic life of the Indonesian people," said Trisno.

Rupiah is also here to participate in preserving Indonesia's nature, arts and culture through its designs that reflect the wealth and diversity of the nation.

"Through rupiah, we know the figures of the Heroes I Gusti Ngurah Rai, I Gusti Ketut Pudja, Ulun Danu Temple, Legong Dance, Pendet Dance and Gringsing Weaving," he said.

In addition, BI also continues to strive to increase Bali's economic growth through the use of digital technology in payment transactions, including through the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS).

"QRIS has now become the leading digital payment facility and has reached more than 450 thousand merchants in Bali," he said.
