JAKARTA - The Oil and Gas Special Task Force (SKK Migas) and Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) conduct inspections or direct visits to manufacturers in Batam, Riau Province.

This inspection is also carried out to encourage the level of domestic content (TKDN) in the upstream oil and gas supporting industry.

In this inspection, there were eight KKKS brought by SKK Migas to see firsthand the products made in Batam to support the implementation of the upstream oil and gas industry production process in Indonesia.

Head of the SKK Migas Supply Chain Management Division Erwin Suryadi said the inspection was carried out to take a close look at matchmaker products or business matchmakers, which are expected to be used in the upstream oil and gas industry.

According to Erwin, SKK Migas is committed to local products to drive the domestic industry in accordance with the wishes of the government.

"If the product is of high quality and meets the standards of the oil and gas industry, we will continue to support it and this is not a joke," Erwin told the media quoted on Wednesday, June 8.

During this inspection, continued Erwin, SKK Migas and KKKS visited 3 local companies in Batam, namely ASL Shipyard Indonesia, Toemoe Valve and the seamless pipe company, Rainbow Tubulars Manufacture.

When this inspection was discovered, there was a local company capable of producing up to 80 percent local content, such as that of ASL Shipyard Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Head of SKK Migas Sumbagut Representative, Rikky Rahmat Firdaus said at the national capacity forum in Batam, these local companies would be encouraged to play a more role and compete more professionally, so that they can participate in the upstream oil and gas industry which has a high standard of technical work. .

"Many local companies in Batam actually have potential in upstream oil and gas projects and this is very fortunate because these companies operate in Indonesia," concluded Rikky.
