BANGKA BELITUNG - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahudin Uno is optimistic that golf tourism in Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, will be able to stimulate the economy through tourism.

This was conveyed by Sandiaga Uno during the Let's Go Belitung Golf 2022 tournament which took place at Blacks Rock Golf Tanjung Tinggi, Belitung.

"Golf tourism is very influential on the revival of tourism and economic actors really feel the benefits," said Sandiaga Uno, quoted from Antara, Friday, May 27.

According to him, golf tourism becomes a quality tour because the length of stay of a tourist becomes longer because they want to play golf several times.

Golf tourism also makes the quality of spending or the amount of costs incurred by a tourist higher, so that it is very influential on the revival of tourism.

"And the most important thing is the job creation created. Previously the golf caddy and economic players really felt it in the concept of shopping for souvenirs," he said.

In addition, he continued, the potential for golf tourism in Belitung also has market opportunities abroad such as Singapore and Malaysia.

"Black Rocks Golf is different from other golf courses in Jakarta and its surroundings because there are black rock formations," he said.

He hopes that the implementation of sports tourism activities can become an activity that is routinely carried out every year.

"Because there are several potential markets such as Singapore, Malaysia and Australia," he said.
