JAKARTA - PT Bank Mandiri Tbk and Bank Banten continue to strengthen synergies through co-branding cooperation and top up Application Programming Interface (API) Mandiri e-Money cards. This collaboration is part of the commitment of the two banks to strengthen financial inclusion in the country, as well as complete services for the community.

Meanwhile, this cooperation agreement was signed by Bank Mandiri SVP Transaction Banking Retail Sales Thomas Wahyudi and Bank Banten President Director Agus Syabarudin in Serpong, Friday 20 May.

On the occasion, Thomas said this synergy is the company's effort to create financial services and solutions for the community that can contribute to the Indonesian economy.

"This strategic collaboration is part of Bank Mandiri's campaigns and initiatives as an urban locomotive through the provision of financial products that suit the needs of the urban community," said Thomas.

He added, this Bank Banten co-brand card is a Mandiri e-Money card wrapped in a special design and integrated with the Bank Mandiri banking system as a means of payment (e-money) as well as a substitute for cash for payments at merchants and retail stores in collaboration with Mandiri Bank.

The Mandiri e-Money card, continued Thomas, can also be used as a means of payment for various transportation facilities, such as Electric Rail Train (KRL), Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), TransJakarta, toll payments and electronic parking.

"This collaborative initiative is in line with Bank Mandiri's desire to continue to provide added value to partners as well as our efforts to support the government's program to reduce cash transactions as launched by the government through Bank Indonesia in the National Non-Cash Movement," he added.

With the co-branding and API Top Up collaboration, Bank Mandiri hopes to become Bank Banten's financial partner to contribute to the economy in the future.

For information, until the end of April 2022, Bank Mandiri had issued 26.7 million electronic money cards with the e-Money logo. Meanwhile, the average Mandiri e-Money transaction per month has penetrated 90.5 million transactions worth Rp. 1.6 trillion. Not only that, Mandiri e-Money can also be used at 175,000 merchants who collaborate with Bank Mandiri.

"We certainly hope that the Mandiri e-Money Bank Banten co-brand can be used to facilitate the transaction and payment needs of the community, in this case Bank Banten customers," concluded Thomas.
