Sat Set… This Is Sri Mulyani's Mainstay Technique In Managing The 'overflowing' State Income Of IDR 420 Trillion

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani admitted that she had prepared a work plan to deal with the outlook for state revenue which is believed to increase by Rp420.1 trillion this year.

According to the Minister of Finance, the government will optimize the revenue for three strategic things, namely protecting the people, protecting the economy, and protecting the state budget.

"With increased income, it is actually possible to directly reduce the APBN deficit, which will immediately drop drastically, but it means that fuel prices will increase, electricity prices will increase, economic recovery will probably not happen," he said when attending a Working Meeting with the DPR's Budget Agency at the Senayan Parliamentary Complex. , Jakarta on Thursday, 19 May.

However, the Minister of Finance does not see that this is not a wise way. According to him, the government will spread the excess income to several expenditure posts.

"If we want to protect the people, protect the economy, and protect the state budget, this more than IDR 420 trillion of income must be divided for the three purposes. Most of it is for additional subsidies to protect the people and additional social assistance which will protect the economy and create growth from consumption," he said.

The Minister of Finance also revealed that his party requested a special placement for the restructuring of the state budget in order to reduce the budget deficit.

“We asked for a portion of Rp420 trillion to reduce the deficit. If in the APBN Law the deficit is designed at IDR 868 trillion or 4.85 of GDP (gross domestic product), then if this IDR 420 trillion is used it will also create a deficit of IDR 840 trillion or only used around IDR 27.8 trillion, "he said.

"So we share all of this, for electricity subsidies, fuel subsidies, and additional social assistance, including the education budget that will increase as well as DBH (Profit Sharing Funds) for the regions," he continued.

Therefore, the Minister of Finance as the government's representative hopes that the parliament can smooth this proposal so that the management of state finances can be more optimal in supporting economic recovery and growth.

"For that we ask the DPR to be able to approve our proposal considering the economy has shifted and has become very complicated because it directly threatens the pockets of the people," closed the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.
