JAKARTA - Head of the Fiscal Policy Agency (BKF) of the Ministry of Finance, Febrio Kacaribu, said that Indonesia's economic growth in the first quarter of 2022, which amounted to 5.01 percent, was still dominated by household consumption.

According to him, based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), a number of sectors contributing to economic growth are also getting stronger.

"This is encouraging because household consumption is growing stronger. Hopefully this trend will continue as economic activity and mobility continue to improve," he said via an online channel on Friday, May 13.

Febrio added, from the investment side, it also recorded positive results with the infrastructure sector and construction sector which continues to grow, which is expected to improve in 2022.

"Exports and imports are still very strong. This is a source of growth whose strength will be seen in 2022. Not only because of improving commodity prices, but also exports and the increasingly competitive manufacturing sector,” he said.

Furthermore, Febrio conveyed that several sectors were already above the pre-pandemic level, namely the manufacturing sector, trade, and the construction sector. Meanwhile, other sectors that still need attention are the transportation, accommodation, and food and beverage sectors.

"Regarding the food and beverage sector, although in the first quarter of 2022 these two sectors grew very high, but because the correction was quite sharp in 2020 and throughout 2021, it has not recovered enough, so overall this is still below the performance of these sectors. another.
