Sri Mulyani's First Activity After Eid Holidays Meet Two German Diplomats, What To Discuss?

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani is known to have started routine state activities after undergoing the Lebaran holiday this year.

It was stated that the first activity of the state treasurer was to receive an official visit from the Germany State Secretary and Special Envoy for International Climate Action Jennifer Lee Morgan and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Indonesia Ina Lepel.

"Have you started your activities after the holidays or going home for Eid? We at the Ministry of Finance are also on active duty again. One of the meetings in the first week after Eid this time was a meeting with HE Jennifer Lee Morgan, State Secretary and Special Envoy for International Climate Action and @inalepel, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Indonesia, ASEAN and Timor-Leste," he said. via the personal Instagram page @smindrawati, Tuesday, 10 May.

According to the Minister of Finance, he and the two German diplomats were involved in quite intensive and comprehensive discussions.

"We discussed many things, starting from the G20 Presidency of Indonesia this year to the warm bilateral relations between Indonesia and Germany," he said.

The Minister of Finance hopes that the ties that have been closely intertwined can further enhance mutual understanding so that it will have a positive impact on both countries.

"I hope that in the future bilateral relations between Indonesia and Germany can be maintained well. I also want meetings like this to always help the recovery of the world economy, especially for Indonesia," he stressed.

Citing data released by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), in the last three years Indonesia posted a trade balance deficit with Germany. The last record in 2021 stated that Indonesia experienced a deficit of 277.7 million US dollars.

This result was obtained after the import value was greater with US$3.1 billion compared to exports which amounted to US$2.9 billion.

Meanwhile, Indonesia's leading export commodities to the armored countries include footwear, machinery, clothing, mineral ore, rubber and rubber products.

Meanwhile, for imports, Indonesia imports a lot of machinery, mechanical equipment, optical equipment, electrical machinery, vehicles, iron and steel products, as well as various medicines and medical devices.
