JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) Mardani H Maming supports the call to work from home (WFH) to break down traffic congestion after the 2022 Eid holiday.
"We support the policy of the National Police Chief, because this is a role model for a new style in working to implement innovation and technology in our lives. It really answers the backflow congestion and God willing, becomes a solution. Breakthroughs like this need to be done," he said in a written statement, quoted from Between, Monday 9 May.
Mardani said that working from home WFH or remotely would be effective for the company. The reason is, since the pandemic lasted for the last two years, companies have been "forced" to use information technology to support work.
"It should remain effective, because in the last two years we have been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has forced us to use information technology in our work. Hopefully this will not reduce the effectiveness of the company in running its business," he added.
Mardani also asked Hipmi member companies to implement the policy.
However, the former Regent of Tanah Bumbu reminded not to let employees who work from home neglect.
"This is a challenge for us, even though we are not physically present but can deliver (deliver) well the work in the office/company. Developed countries have started implementing WFH after COVID-19," he concluded.
Previously, the National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo advises government and private agencies to implement a work from home (WFH) policy after the Lebaran moment ends. This is to prevent congestion during reverse flow.
The Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Tjahjo Kumolo immediately approved the proposal from the National Police Chief, General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo to implement a work from home or WFH system for ASN to unravel the backflow congestion for Eid 2022.
Similarly, the Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah also advised workers who were going home for Lebaran to avoid returning to Jakarta and its surroundings at the peak of the return flow and could work from home (WFH) to ease backflow congestion.
"As President Jokowi advised that people who travel back and forth using private vehicles during this year's Eid al-Fitr, to return early or return after the peak of the return flow," said the Minister of Manpower, Saturday, May 7 evening.
