Super Dense Schedule, Here's A Series Of Agendas For Sri Mulyani To Lead RI At IMF - WBG Spring Meetings 2022 Second Day

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Minister of Finance) Sri Mulyani led the Indonesian delegation in the 2022 IMF-WBG Spring Meetings in Washington DC, United States which has been taking place since the beginning of this week.

In today's press release, it was stated that the Minister of Finance started the second day's agenda by chairing a meeting of the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Change.

"The Coalition meeting is intended to discuss the Coalition's efforts in responding to the energy crisis that occurs without having to sacrifice medium-term goals in dealing with climate change issues," said Head of the Ministry of Finance's Communications and Information Services Bureau, Rahayu Puspasari, Wednesday, April 20.

Then, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani became a panelist at the Tackling Food Insecurity: The Challenge and Call to Action event, together with the United States Minister of Finance, IMF Managing Director, World Bank President, and IFAD President.

During the event, the state treasurer called for the need for action to address the potential food security crisis as a result of the war in Ukraine.

The next agenda was continued by attending an event organized by the IMF with the title A Dialog with G20 Emerging Markets. This dialogue was chaired by the Managing Director of the IMF and attended by emerging market member countries of the G20, including Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Brazil and South Africa.

The Minister of Finance's next schedule is to hold bilateral meetings with the Presidents of two international financial institutions, namely ADB and the World Bank, and to hold bilateral meetings with several major partner countries, namely the Ministers of Finance of the United States, Malaysia, Argentina, and Brazil.

In detail, the Meeting with the President of the World Bank discussed the policy reform process in Indonesia.

Then, the meeting with the United States Minister of Finance discussed many of the priority agenda agendas in the G20 Presidency of Indonesia, one of which was the establishment of financing facilities for prevention, preparedness and handling of future pandemics.

Finally, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani met the Ministers of Finance of Brazil, Argentina and Malaysia bilaterally with each to discuss efforts to overcome strategic issues and solve problems collectively.
