JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office has named four suspects in corruption cases related to the provision of export facilities for crude palm oil (CPO) and its derivatives. One of them is the Director-General of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Trade with the initials IWW.

"There are 4 suspects. First, an echelon I official at the Ministry of Trade, named IWW, the Director-General of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Trade, with the suspect's actions having illegally issued export approvals related to CPO commodities and their derivative products to Permata Hijau Group, Wilmar Nabati Indonesia, PT Multimas Nabati Asahan and PT Musim Mas", he said at a virtual press conference, Tuesday, April 19.

Meanwhile, the other three suspects are from the private sector. They are the Senior Manager of Corporate affairs of Permata Hijau Group with the initials SMA; Commissioner of PT Wilmar Nabati Indonesia with the initials MPT; and the General Manager of PT Musim Mas with the initials PT.

According to Burhanuddin, the three suspects from the company have intensively tried to approach the Director-General of Trade at the Ministry of Trade IWW to obtain a CPO export permit.

"Even though these companies are not companies that have the right to get export approval", he said.

Burhanuddin said that the actions of the suspects had caused a loss to the country's economy. This includes the high cost and scarcity of cooking oil.

"So there is a decrease in household consumption and small industries that use cooking oil and make people's lives difficult", he explained.

The four suspects were immediately detained in two different places. Indrashari Wisnu Wardhana or IWW and Master Parulian Tumanggor are being held at the AGO branch of the Salemba Rutan, while Stanley and PT are at the Salemba Rutan at the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office.

"For the next 20 days starting today", he said.
