Monitoring Results Of 216 Markets In 90 Regencies/Cities 34 Provinces, Trade Minister Lutfi: Bapok Prices Tend To Be Stable Ahead Of Eid 2022

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade reports on the development of prices and supplies of basic commodities (bapok) ahead of Eid al-Fitr or Leberan 2022. Based on monitoring results, the average bapok price tends to be stable.

Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi ensured that the Ministry of Trade was committed to continuously monitoring stock availability and maintaining the prices of basic goods, especially ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

"We can say that as of April 18, 2022, the national average for all staple commodities is reported to be stable and their stocks are safely available," he said in a video statement quoted from the Ministry of Trade's YouTube channel, Tuesday, April 19.

As for the details, the average price of medium rice today is IDR 10,400 per kilogram (kg) or a 1.89 percent decrease from the Eid period last year. Then, premium rice was stable at Rp12,400 per kg with the lowest price at Rp11,500 per kg in production centers such as Java and Sulawesi. And the highest is Rp. 13,500 per kg in Maluku and Papua.

"The price of granulated sugar is Rp. 14,700 per kg, or slightly up 2.8 percent from last month. With the national stock still sufficient for the next two months," he said.

Meanwhile, the price of beef was Rp. 133,100 per kg, a slight increase of 0.6 percent from last week. However, this price as a whole is still 0.82 percent lower than the price during the month of Ramadan last year.

For chicken meat, Lutfi continued, it was around Rp. 37,100 per kg, down 1.07 percent from last week. Meanwhile, the price of eggs is stable at Rp. 26,100 per kg.

The price of shallots was at Rp. 33,600 per kg, down 2.61 percent from last week. In fact, it has fallen 5.62 percent from last month's price. "Garlic is in the range of Rp. 31,000 to Rp. 33,000 per kg, a slight decrease of 1.27 percent from last week," said Lutfi.

Meanwhile, the price of chili fell quite a bit by 13.2 percent compared to last week. The details are IDR 42,000 per kg for curly red chili. Then large red chilies are Rp. 43,000 per kg and Rp. 49,400 per kg for large cayenne peppers.

Lutfi said the current soybean price had fallen to Rp. 13,900 per kg, or a decrease of 0.71 percent compared to last week. Based on developments in the international soybean market, prices will gradually decline starting from the end of May this year.

"Currently, the government has also distributed assistance to replace the difference in the purchase price of soybeans to the tofu and tempeh craftsmen of KOPTI members, which is Rp. 1,000 per kg, which is distributed directly by Perum Bulog," he said.

Then, wheat flour was relatively stable at Rp. 11,300 per kg and the price of premium cooking oil was at Rp. 26,300 per liter and simple packaging at Rp. 23,700 per liter. Then bulk cooking oil is at IDR 17,600 per liter.

"We will monitor this price every day in 216 people's markets in 90 regencies/cities in 34 provinces carried out by contributors from the office in charge of trade," he said.
