JAKARTA - The Director General of Budget of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) Isa Rachmatarwata said that the process of disbursing direct cash assistance (BLT) for cooking oil will begin next week. He emphasized this after receiving a mandate from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to accelerate this program.

"We are carrying out the direction of the President to be able to distribute it this Ramadan and a week before Eid we must complete everything," he said when giving a presentation to the media crew through virtual channels on Friday, April 8.

According to Isa, the government distributes cooking oil BLT based on two strategic data. The first is through data on BLT recipients in the food family with a total of 20.65 million recipients and a budget of Rp. 6.2 trillion.

The second is from BLT data for street vendors and stalls (PKLW) with a total of 2.5 million recipients and a budget of Rp. 750 billion.

So, for this year's total cooking oil BLT funds, it is Rp. 6.95 trillion which is distributed to 23.15 million recipients throughout Indonesia.

“For BLT cooking oil based on food family data, it will be distributed through the Ministry of Social Affairs. As for the cooking oil BLT based on street vendors and stalls, it will go through the TNI and Polri," he said.

For information, cooking oil BLT is part of the social assistance included in the community protection cluster worth a total of Rp. 154.76 trillion in the 2022 National Economic Recovery (PEN) program.
