Flanked By Conglomerates Chairul Tanjung And Erick Thohir, Sri Mulyani: Both Of Them Include Crazy Rich Indonesia, Successful Entrepreneurs Paying The Highest Rates Of Private Taxes!

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati spoke about Crazy Rich, which is being hotly discussed by the Indonesian people. Sri Mulyani also pointed to conglomerates Chairul Tanjung and Erick Thohir as the real crazy rich.

This was stated by Sri Mulyani on her personal Instagram account @smindrawati. He admitted that he was happy to hear Chairul Tanjung and Erick Thohir "competing" with each other saying that both of them had complied with paying taxes honestly and correctly.

"I'm flanked by @erickthohir and Pak Chairul Tanjung - the two richest people in Indonesia. What do the three of us talk about?" Sri Mulyani wrote, quoted Tuesday, March 22.

"I am happy to hear that Mr. @erickthohir and Pak CT are competing to convey that they have complied with paying taxes and submitting a list of assets honestly and correctly, including assets located abroad," added the former World Bank Managing Director.

Sri Mulyani did not hesitate to call Chairul Tanjung and Erick Thohir as crazy rich in the country.

"Both of them are "crazy rich" Indonesia. Successful entrepreneurs..! Both of them must belong to the group of people who have to pay personal income tax with the highest tax rate of 35 percent," explained Sri Mulyani.

"That's the PRINCIPLE OF TAX JUSTICE, the rich pay a higher rate, while the poor and MSMEs with a turnover below 500 million DO NOT pay taxes. Instead, they GET governmental HELP. What are the government's assistance from the collected tax money?" he added.

Sri Mulyani also explained what government assistance was generated from taxes. According to him, this reflects that taxes are indeed used as well as possible for the people in Indonesia.

"10 million families of the Family Hope Program (PKH) received direct cash transfers per family, the government also provided cash assistance to buy basic necessities for 18.8 million families. Tax money from the people also returned to the people," said Sri Mulyani.

"Want to know an example? Various subsidy programs such as: electricity and fuel and 3 kg LPG used by the people require subsidies of up to hundreds of trillions. Fertilizer for farmers, subsidized KUR credit for MSMEs, scholarships for students and students, payment of BPJS contributions for 98 million people can't afford it. EVERYTHING is paid with your tax money," wrote Sri Mulyani.
