After The 5.5 M Sukabumi Earthquake, PLN Ensures Normal Jakarta Electricity Supply

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) has ensured that electricity conditions in Greater Jakarta are in a safe condition after being hit by a 5.5 magnitude earthquake in Sukabumi, West Java on Wednesday, March 16 at 10.00 WIB.

"In connection with the earthquake that occurred on March 16, 2022 at 10.00 WIB with the center in Sukabumi, West Java, all electricity supply in the work area of PLN UID Jakarta Raya is in normal condition," wrote PLN management in a statement received by VOI, Wednesday, March 16.

PLN management continued, until now PLN officers have carried out sweeping the electricity network and checking the substations in the Jakarta area, the result is that all electricity supplies are in a safe condition. The earthquake was felt by residents of Jakarta and its surroundings.

Based on BMKG records, the earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 with an epicenter of 113 kilometers from Sukabumi City, with a depth of 10 kilometers did not have the potential for a tsunami.

"Be careful of possible aftershocks," the BMKG wrote.
