Prices Of Onion To Chili Rise, Government Ensures Stabilization

JAKARTA - Head of the Food Agency Arief Prasetyo Adi said that the price of basic commodities is currently increasing. It's not just cooking oil that has experienced a price spike. However, this also applies to chili, shallots and beef and buffalo commodities.

The increase in the prices of a number of commodities is known based on the monitoring of the National Food Agency together with the Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi at the Kebayoran Lama Market, South Jakarta, on Wednesday, March 9, 2022.

Meanwhile for beef has increased since some time ago. The increase in the price of meat is due to rising prices from upstream.

Then, for beef has (hamstrings) slightly increased by Rp222 to Rp140.666 per kilogram (kg). Then, for pure beef, it is Rp. 869 to Rp. 137.065 per kg.

Arief admitted that he would ensure to be able to stabilize prices on a number of commodities that experienced price increases. One thing that is being done is to distribute beef and buffalo.

"My homework with the Minister of Trade is to do stabilization. So after this action for meat, we will distribute the meat that just arrived yesterday. This is to give the public a choice that there is hot meat, frozen beef and buffalo," said Arief.

In addition to prices that have increased, there are also commodities whose selling prices have decreased, including garlic which is at Rp. 31,212 per kg and white sugar at a price of Rp. 14,159 per kg.

"So we see that garlic is also good, sugar is good," he said.
