JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) as the manager of several toll roads in Indonesia will officially implement an electronic ticket titled Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE).

Director of Operations III Hutama Karya Koentjoro said Hutama Karya was the first BUJT to implement an electronic ticketing system on the Trans Sumatra Toll Road.

"We have completed the ETLE system 100 percent since December 24, 2021, while the implementation is being carried out slowly while conducting socialization to toll road users," said Koentjoro in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Wednesday 2 March.

With the launch of the electronic ticketing system on toll roads, we hope to increase the awareness of road users to obey the max speed and be more careful when driving on toll roads. From the results of management evaluation, one of the highest factors in accidents is caused by fatigue/drowsiness and driving speed that exceeds the maximum limit or speeding.

"Last year Hutama Karya initiated the Microsleep Operation which succeeded in reducing the accident factor due to drowsiness by up to 50 percent, so we hope that the first ETLE system on Indonesian toll roads can reduce accidents due to violating the speed limit," said Koentjoro.

He also added that before the launch of the ETLE system, Hutama Karya had carried out various socializations related to driving speed from various sides.

"We have cooperated with the Regional Police of each region to take action with the Speed Gun system. We also always emphasize the driving safety campaign that has been launched for a long time, namely the Happy Until Destination (SETUJU) campaign where Obey Driving Speed and Reduce Accident Fatality are two important points contained in the campaign," he said.

The SETUJU campaign continues to be echoed through various communication channels ranging from social media, to outdoor media that can be seen by road users, to certain activities initiated by toll branches such as Microsleep Operations, Sympathetic Operations, ODOL Operations, and others.

Hutama Karya in collaboration with the Lampung Provincial Police (Polda Lampung), the signing of the Cooperation Agreement was held on Wednesday, March 2, while socializing the ELTE electronic ticketing system.

Hutama Karya appealed to all road users to comply with the rules and regulations that apply on toll roads, one of which is by using one Electronic Money (EU) card only for one vehicle and ensuring the adequacy of the EU balance before entering the toll gate.

If road users forget to fill in their EU balance, they can use the HK Toll Apps application owned by Hutama Karya where there is a EU Balance Check feature and can also top up the EU balance.

In addition, Hutama Karya continues to urge toll road users to drive at the minimum and maximum speeds as required, and not to use the shoulder of the road except in an emergency.

Rest immediately if you feel sleepy in the nearest Rest Area and to always comply with the applicable health protocols wherever you are. If a toll road user experiences or sees a crime on the toll road or rest area, they must immediately report it to the Call Center of each Toll Branch.
