JAKARTA - PT Gudang Garam Tbk continues to accelerate the construction of the airport in Kediri, East Java, which is carried out by its subsidiary, PT Surya Dhoho Investama or SDHI. In fact, the cigarette company owned by conglomerate Susilo Wonowidjojo has again strengthened SDHI's capital.

"The company's additional capital deposit to SDHI is IDR 2 trillion", said Director of Gudang Garam, Istata T. Siddharta, in an information disclosure to the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Wednesday, March 2.

Istata said that the capital injection came from the acquisition of new shares issued by SDHI. The total is 2 million shares.

With this latest capital deposit, said Istata, the total issued and paid-up capital of SDHI to Rp 8 trillion from the previous IDR 6 trillion. The total shares owned by Gudang Garam in SDHI are 7.77 million.

Even so, said Istata, the capital deposit will not be disbursed immediately in one stage. The plan is that Gudang Garam will only deposit IDR 100 billion in capital for the first phase on March 4.

"The rest will be gradual until all of them are paid in no later than the end of December 2022", Istata added.

Meanwhile, according to Istata, the additional capital at SDHI was carried out to support the continuation of the development process of the Integrated Airport in Kediri, East Java.

As is known, the construction of the airport in Kediri has reached 80 percent of the air work in December 2021. Meanwhile, the groundwork is already underway and is targeted for completion in 2022.

Overall, the airport construction is expected to be completed in June 2023.
