JAKARTA - The increase in oil and gas prices in the global market will begin to be felt in Indonesia. One of them is non-subsidized LPG.

PT Pertamina (Persero) through its subsidiary PT Pertamina Patra Niaga starting today (Sunday 27 February), raised the price of non-subsidized LPG.

Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Irto Ginting said the new price policy applies to all non-subsidized LPG products on February 27, 2022. "This adjustment is carried out following the latest developments from the large oil and gas industry," he said. Aramco (CPA) has now reached US$775 per metric ton, an increase of about 21 percent from the average CPA price throughout last year. With this adjustment, the current non-subsidized LPG price is Rp. 15,500 per kilogram. Pertamina said it had considered the conditions for price adjustments and the ability of the non-subsidized LPG market.

The price is claimed to be competitive compared to LPG prices in various countries in Southeast Asia. Irto said that the price of subsidized LPG for three kilograms had not changed. Currently, the consumption portion of three kilograms of LPG reaches 93 percent of Pertamina's total LPG consumers. The price of three kilograms of LPG still refers to the highest retail price set by the regional government. 7 percent of the total national LPG consumption as of January 2022," he explained.
