Officially Becomes Bukalapak Boss At 34 Years Old, Willix Halim: Continue Transformation To Create A Fair Economy For All

JAKARTA - PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) officially has a new boss. Through the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders (EGMS), Bukalapak appointed Willix Halim as President Director/CEO.

Willix replaces the previous President Director/CEO of Bukalapak, Rachmat Kaimuddin, who resigned to continue his career to serve the country.

"Thank you for the trust given to me as CEO of Bukalapak. This year, we hope to further strengthen Bukalapak's position as a technology company that provides various verticals to our users. With the support of various parties, I am sure this transformation will continue well and achieve our main goal, which is to create A Fair Economy For All," said Willix.

Who is Willix, who finally be able to occupy the helm of this unicorn?

Quoting Bukalapak's statement, Wednesday, February 16, Willix joined Bukalapak as Chief Operating Officer of Bukalapak in 2016 and became one of the important figures in Bukalapak's growth to become a Unicorn. Willix also contributed to developing Bukalapak Partners to become the O2O (Online to Offline) market leader, and expanding the variety of Bukalapak digital products and services.

This achievement then led Bukalapak to become the first technology company to be listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2021.

Willix earned a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Mechatronics with First Class Honors and as a Valedictorian in 2009 from the University of Melbourne.

The appointment of Willix as the new CEO of Bukalapak has the support of the Independent Commissioner of Bukalapak, Bambang Brodjonegoro. "We are optimistic that Willix Halim will be able to continue Rachmat Kaimuddin's leadership at Bukalapak by continuing to develop the Company into a public company that is financially strong, develops sustainably, and has a significant impact on all Indonesian people," said Bambang.

In addition to the appointment of Willix as the new CEO, Bukalapak also received approval to appoint Victor Putra Lesmana and Howard Nugraha Gani to the Board of Directors. Meanwhile, Teddy Nuryanto Oetomo and Natalia Firmansyah will continue to serve as directors of Bukalapak.
