Ukrainian Citizen Complains To Sandiaga About Positive PCR Results On The Last Day Of Quarantine Which Is Considered Awkward

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno received a complaint from a foreign citizen (WNA) from Ukraine. The foreigner complained that he had a positive PCR result at the end of his quarantine period in Indonesia.

Feeling something was odd, the foreigner then complained to Sandiaga Uno and asked for help to do a PCR retest.

"Directly, they asked for help so that they could do the PCR test again because they believed that the results were wrong. Apart from that, of course it would cost even more," Sandiaga wrote on his Instagram account quoted on Sunday, January 30.

Sandiaga immediately intervened and asked the Kemenparekraf team to help the woman. It is not written in detail what steps were taken, but now the Indonesian citizen has left for Bali to carry out holiday activities like his original destination to Indonesia.

"Alhamdulillah, the problem was quickly resolved. They are currently enjoying tourism in Bali," continued Sandiaga.

Sandi said this quick action was taken to revive the economy and save jobs in the tourism sector, which had been hit hard after being hit by COVID-19 since early 2020.

Meanwhile, quoted from Antara, Sandiaga said, this year a number of international-scale activities will be held in Indonesia such as the G-20 Summit, MotoGP, World Tourism Day, and the Global Platform on Disaster Risk Reduction. On average, these conventions will bring in 6,000 to 7,000 tourists.

To encourage income from the tourism side, the Indonesian government recently opened a travel bubble in three regions, namely Batam, Bintan and Singapore. The collaboration between the governments of Indonesia and Singapore was officially opened in line with the issuance of the circular letter (SE) of the Head of Task Force 3 of 2022 concerning the Health protocol for Overseas Travelers.

In the midst of the government's efforts to restore the tourism sector, Sandi hopes that in the future there will be no more tourists who have a similar experience.

Sandiaga admitted that he would not hesitate to take firm action against individuals who try to take advantage but tarnish Indonesia's good name.
