Airlangga Brings Good News For Warteg Cs Entrepreneurs, BLT, Liquid Warung Merchants Earlier This Year

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto confirmed that the government will continue the program of providing direct cash assistance (BLT) for warung traders this year after it was held in 2021.

According to Airlangga, the strategy is expected to support economic recovery efforts that are currently being intensified by the government. Not only that, he also said that BLT for warung traders is a priority program whose implementation must receive the first portion.

"To take advantage of the economic recovery program, several activities will be encouraged to be carried out at the front or front loading at the beginning of the year, including the expansion of the cash assistance program for warung traders, street vendors (pedestrians), and fishermen," he said in a statement.

According to Airlangga, the BLT provided is included in the 2022 National Economic Recovery (PEN) budget scheme for the economic strengthening cluster with a total amount of IDR 178.3 trillion.

"The government also continues to encourage the improvement of the investment climate with various regulations so that it is hoped that new jobs will be created," he said.

However, Airlangga did not specify the amount of the benefit value to be given to the BLT of the stall merchant.

According to VOI records, this BLT for warung traders and street vendors was officially launched by the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani in September 2021 during a working visit to Medan, North Sumatra.

According to the Minister of Finance, support from the state in the form of IDR 1.2 million for 1 million recipients is a support for the policy of the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM).

"The president has decided to give the TNI and Polri the authority to distribute aid directly to street vendors and shop owners," he said at the time.
