JAKARTA - PT PAL Indonesia President Director Kaharuddin Djenod expressed his gratitude for being entrusted by the government to be one of the recipients of the 2021 State Capital Investment (PMN) period.
According to him, the use of PMN sourced from the State Budget for the 2021 Fiscal Year is optimized to increase the capability of human resources, as well as to add facilities and equipment to realize the whole local production of submarines.
"PT PAL as a symbol of a maritime country, through this PMN we will maximize to build wider facilities. It's not just an inch of land in PAL that doesn't get the blessing of PMN," he said in a press statement when receiving a visit from a Ministry of Finance official, Friday, January 21.
According to Kaharuddin, his party is currently also transforming the Maritime Industry 4.0 to be able to directly display the progress of using PMN and shipbuilding projects in real time.
"We are targeting the Maritime Industry 4.0 transformation to be ready to be implemented no later than mid-2022. This is intended to continue to gain more trust from stakeholders," he said.
On the same occasion, Deputy Minister of Finance (Wamenkeu) Suahasil Nazara said that his party together with the Ministry of SOEs would monitor and act as guards in order to ensure that professionalism and good corporate governance (GCG) are truly created within PT PAL.
"This is a mandate from the APBN, so we want PT PAL to be able to fulfill expectations well," he said.
The Deputy Minister of Finance revealed that the state shipbuilding company is one of the SOEs with good performance considering that the project work is handled by the right professionals.
"We as a maritime country must have the ability to build ships, develop industrial engineering and master the technology," he asserted.
