Allo Banks Owned By Conglomerate Chairul Tanjung Will Open Up Who Is The Biggest Digital Bank In The World Behind Them, WeBank From Tencent?

JAKARTA - Chairul Tanjung's conglomerate bank, PT Allo Bank Indonesia Tbk (BBHI) will reveal the name of the world's largest digital bank that plays a role in the company's application development.

In an information disclosure on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, quoted on Wednesday, January 19, Allo Bank Director Ari Yanuanto Asah revealed that the stages of work involving the digital bank with the company's IT team and CT Corp had entered the internal trial stage.

"The name of the digital bank that helps prepare the Allo Bank digital application will be announced in conjunction with the launch of the Allo Bank digital application to the public in the not too distant future," said Ari Yanuanto.

The figure of a digital bank involved in the development of the Allo Bank application was previously revealed by the Chairman and Ultimate Shareholder of Allo Bank, Chairul Tanjung, last week. Chairul Tanjung or commonly called CT said the Allo Bank application, which will be launched in March 2022, was developed by the best people at CT Corp, and involves the largest digital bank in the world today.

"All of the best people in CT Corp combine in collaboration with the largest digital bank in the world, which has been active for 8 years and has more than 200 million customers. So, it has been tested," said the father of Putri Tanjung.

However, CT does not want to open its voice regarding the digital bank. However, upon closer inspection, there is only one name that fits the grid, namely WeBank.

Quoted from its official website, WeBank is the first digital bank in China. The bank was officially launched when it received its banking license in December 2014. Based in Shenzhen, WeBank is backed by a leading company, namely Tencent.

Tencent is a major internet and technology company in China. Tencent is noted to have a variety of products, including WeChat which fills the communication and social sectors.

Tencent also has financial technology services such as WeChat Pay, QQ Wallet, and others. Meanwhile, compiled from various sources, WeBank currently has the status of being the largest digital bank in the world with more than 200 million customers. This bank also leads in all aspects, from assets, loans, net profit, to equity.
