JAKARTA - A subsidiary of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI), namely PT BNI Sekuritas, apologized for the actions of its employees who sparked a polemic related to the tweets circulating on social media Twitter. This apology stems from the upload of a video of a man throwing and kicking an offering allegedly for the ruwatan tradition of the residents of Sumbersari, Lumajang, East Java, on Twitter on Saturday, January 8.

Yunarto Wijaya's Twitter account owner, @yunartowijaya, commented on the action that took place in Sumbersari, Lumajang. Not long after, the tweet was responded to by the owner of the Heri Cahyadi account, @heryc_84, which sparked a new polemic on Twitter.

In the screenshot, Heri Cahyadi uploaded a tweet insulting customs practicing offerings. Then, the tweet was replied to by the account owner @yunartowijaya. He revealed that the owner of the account was an employee of BNI Sekuritas.

"Crew of @bnisekuritas46 why is this statement? Are you seriously insulting the custom that still uses offerings?" write the account owner @yunartowijaya.

However, @yunartowijaya deleted the tweet because he could not bear it if employees from BNI Sekuritas were threatened with losing their jobs.
