Tolak Angin From Sido Appears Will Be Present At All Overseas Watsons Outlets, Yenny Wahid: Indonesian Products Are Not Lost From Overseas

JAKARTA - PT Sido Muncul Herbal and Pharmaceutical Industry Tbk is exploring cooperation with Watsons Indonesia outlet manager, PT Duta Intidaya Tbk. This assessment is carried out so that later Sido Muncul products can be present in all Watsons outlets in foreign countries.

"We will increase cooperation with Watsons. Products from Sido Muncul such as Tolak Angin and supplements from Sido Muncul can enter all Watsons outlets around the world," said Director of Sido Muncul Irwan Hidayat, Monday, December 27 yesterday.

Irwan added, Sido Muncul was happy with Watsons' move to promote local products native to Indonesia to be able to go international. Moreover, said Irwan, Watsons has 15,000 outlets worldwide.

Meanwhile, Watsons Indonesia President Commissioner Yenny Wahid said, Indonesia should not only be a consumer of various foreign-made products. It is time for this nation to become a producer, not just a consumer.

"So we must be able to become part of the global supply chain. Our Indonesian products both know that the quality is not inferior to foreign products. I often distinguish local products from those made abroad," said the woman whose full name is Zannuba Arifah Chafsoh Rahman.

"Many local products are of no less quality, even better, because they are adapted to the needs of Indonesians. Many local products are innovative and we should be proud that local products can compete with global products," he added.

Furthermore, the former Commissioner of Garuda Indonesia explained that Watsons Indonesia and Sido Muncul were looking for opportunities to promote local products, including Tolak Angin, to the international arena.

"Tolak Angin will have a special partnership with Watsons. We were just exploring that in the future there is a plan that Tolak Angin will be marketed in all Watsons outlets overseas. Watsons has more than 15,000 stores. In Watsons Indonesia itself, Tolak Angin has been marketed and usually sold at Watsons outlets," explained Yenny.
