JAKARTA - Juanda International Airport Surabaya in Sidoarjo, East Java has adjusted the requirements for flying during Christmas and New Year 2022 in the local area, one of which is that travelers are required to undergo a second dose of vaccine.
General Manager of Juanda International Airport Sisyani Jaffar said that the rules for flying domestic trips during Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022 have changed, during which travelers are required to undergo a second dose of vaccine.
"From December 24, 2021 to January 2, 2022, domestic travelers are required to have a second dose of vaccine by including a negative result of the antigen 'swab' test which is valid for 1 x 24 hours," he said, quoted from Antara, Friday, December 24.
He said that domestic travelers who did not receive the full dose of vaccine (dose 2) for medical reasons or who had not received the full dose of vaccine, had temporarily restricted their mobility.
"However, for domestic travelers who have not been fully vaccinated for medical reasons and will travel for medical or medical purposes, they can still travel with the requirement that they show 3x24 hour RT PCR results and a certificate from a government hospital doctor," he said.
According to Sisyani, the requirement for a vaccination card is exempted for travelers under the age of 12.
"In the circular, it is explained that under the age of 12 years old can travel by air with the requirement to attach a negative PCR result 3x24 hours and must be accompanied by parents or family as evidenced by bringing a family card," he added.
In addition, in welcoming Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022, Juanda International Airport has also opened a central vaccination service for passengers.
"We have reopened the vaccination center in collaboration with the Surabaya Class I Port Health Office as an officer and provider of vaccine doses from 17 December 2021 to 4 January 2022. The vaccination center is located in the lobby of the new T1 terminal and is specifically intended for passengers who have not received the second dose of vaccine and already has a 'booking' code for flights that will fly from Juanda Airport," he said.
Sisyani urges those who want to travel to pay attention to the criteria and requirements that must be met.
"For the sake of the smoothness and security of this limited flight, we appeal to prospective passengers who will travel through Juanda International Airport to comply with all applicable rules and regulations. Then for prospective passengers to come 2-3 hours before departure due to inspection and validation completeness of the documents," he said.
Juanda International Airport has also opened an air transportation post for Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022 since December 17, 2021.
"We will continue to open air transport posts during the Christmas and New Year period from December 17, 2021 to January 4, 2022 while still observing the applicable health protocols. This command post will continue to be implemented to monitor the smooth flow of aircraft, passengers and goods," Sisyani continued.
