Action By Pertamina Workers Union Demands Nicke Widyawati Comes Regrets By FSP BUMN: Don't Overstep The Authority Of The Ministry Of BUMN

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the United Federation of State-Owned Enterprises (FSP) Tri Sasono regretted the plan of the United Pertamina Workers Union Federation (FSPPB) to conduct a strike demanding the removal of President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati.

"As fellow trade unionists, we regret the planned strike action, because it is not in line with the organizational goals of the unions," he said, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, December 22.

According to Tri, the aim of the union is to fight for normative rights, especially the welfare of workers, and not to ask for the removal of the Pertamina president director.

The change of directors in a BUMN, he continued, is not the domain of the FSPPB, but the rights of shareholders in this case the Ministry of BUMN.

"Don't overstep the authority of the Ministry of SOEs," he added.

Notification of the FSPPB strike plan was submitted by letter Number 113/FSPPB/XII/2021-TH dated 17 December 2021. The action is planned to take place from 29 December 2021 to 7 January 2022.

FSPPB also sent a letter to the Minister of SOEs Number 110/FSPPB/XII/2021-ON3 dated December 10, 2021 regarding the Application for the Removing of the President Director of PT Pertamina (Nicke Widyawati).

Tri Sasono continued that the threat of a strike at Pertamina was counterproductive.

"If only because of the deadlock in the preparation of the PKB (Joint Work Agreement) it should be resolved through dialogue," he said.

Moreover, if the negotiations stalled because of welfare issues, according to him, Pertamina's workers have so far been the best workers with the welfare level.

"We ask Pertamina's workers not to go on strike, especially since the long holiday period is approaching, which requires focus on providing sufficient fuel stocks for the people," he said.

He added that it was feared that the FSPPB strike action plan would even lead to the perception of political content with the agenda of changing the position of the Pertamina Managing Director.

Tri added that currently Pertamina has performed well during Nicke Widyawati's leadership.

In the first semester of 2021, Pertamina was recorded as being able to contribute through deposits in state revenues of Rp. 110.6 trillion, of which Rp. 70.7 trillion was in the form of taxes, non-tax state revenues (PNBP), and dividends, an increase of almost 10 percent from the same period in 2020.

"As a fellow trade unionist, FSPPB should think twice more in carrying out its struggle methods," said Tri Sasono.
